Winter Tourism – Just 10 km from Samokov is the oldest and largest winter resort Borovets. The complex offers opportunities for all kinds of winter sports, combined with high quality service, modern facilities and equipment. There are 24 ski runs with a total length of 58 km. The Complex Malyovitsa has two tracks and uniquely beautiful scenery, which makes further the visit even more memorable. Good conditions for beginners offers the trackin the village Govedarci.

Summer tourism – Freshness of the summer air and quiet of ancient forests of Rila mountain create excellent opportunities for recreation in the other seasons of the year too. Much of the territory is occupied by the Rila National Park, which has a unique wealth of protected species of flora and fauna.

Country Tourism – Villages in Samokov have kept their originality and authentic look as well as specific to each village life, culture and traditions. Here visitors can go back in time to the Bulgarian races with authentic folklore – songs, costumes, the unique traditional dishes, with different customs.

Cultural and historical tourism – Samokov has a rich cultural and historical past that dates back centuries. Archeological excavations in the Municipality brought back the calendar to the 4th century A.D. by the disclosed early Christian churches and fortresses of the time of Byzantine Empire. Here there are also finds of the Thracians time- Mound, which was a Thracian tomb. The walk through the centuries passes also through the Bulgarian Renaissance, when the town was a highly developed economic and cultural center. About all that are telling the preserved and restored monuments of culture. The Nunnery, with its 240-year history, the Mitropolitska Church with its unique iconostasis, the Mosque with its architecture and mural painting, Sarafska house with authentic look of the Renaissance town style. In the center is a large fountain, a symbol of the town, built-in history and legend by itself. Just meters from it is the largest military memorial – unique in architecture building of the Community Centre – monument “Otets Paisii”. Together with Renaissance monuments the clock is coming back even further to the archaeological monument “Shishmanovo kale” and the late antique fortress “Tsari Mali town.”
