The Big Drinking Fountain has been a monument of culture and a public edifice since 17th century. It was built in Ottoman Empire style as a charity place by the person in charge of the sultan’s kitchen around 1660.This drinking fountain on the square has rich stone ornaments – a unique ear-ring, a fountain and a bird’s house. A spring of fresh cold water was led off along wooden pipes. Legend has it that whoever drinks water from this fountain, will stay in the town forever.
